On July 11, 2000 Derek Jeter accomplished something that no Yankee, to that point, had ever accomplished. He went three-for-three with a go-ahead, two-run single which led to the All-Star Game MVP award. No other player in Yankees franchise history had ever won the honor before Derek Jeter.
