Derek Jeter Becomes Yankees All-Time Hit Leader

Yankee Stadium DaylightDerek Jeter will go down in history as one of the greatest New York Yankees of all-time. When you consider names like Ruth, Berra, Gehrig, Mantle, and DiMaggio then that is quite the list to join. While he is now the owner of many Yankees records, one was arguably greater than all the rest. When Derek Jeter  singled to right-field, he passed Lou Gehrig for first on the all-time Yankees hit list. His 2,722 hits, at that point in time, broke a record that stood for 72 years. Another iconic moment in the career of “The Captain.”
