MLB THE SHOW 19 COVER VOTE

Shohei Ohtani

P/DH, Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim

Wow right? He was the Babe Ruth of Japan. The 23-year-old Japanese two-way legend throws an upper 90s fastball that can hit 100 mph, a demoralizing splitter and a plus slider. He also hit 40 home runs and hit over .320 in his last two seasons. Every scout and baseball expert said he would not be able to be a two-way player here in the United States. Well the rookie has not listened and kudos for the Angels for making the exception. In seven starts, he is 4-1 with a 3.35 ERA and 52 strikeouts in 40 innings. As a DH, in 104 plate appearances, he has six home runs, 19 RBI, 15 runs scored, and an OPS of .991. The Phenom appears to be the real deal and his full potential has yet to be unlocked. Maybe he should be the second rookie in a row to grace the game cover. Let’s see what the MLB The Show 19 cover vote thinks about that.
