Another one of the talented Yankees shortstops in the system, Wade does not come with all the flash but he is solid. Offensively, he does not have super human speed but he is fast which projects to 20-30 stolen base speed. He is a line drive hitter with solid offensively skills, especially for the position. He is not fooled by bad pitches often and that eye is something that will keep him from prolonged bad streaks.
Defensively he projects as a decent but not great defender. In a twisted sort of way think about mid-career Jeter who gobbled up what was close but did not range really far. That is where Wade is but he is taking strides to fix the issue. His biggest problem is he is not the top prospect at any natural position, which can keep him from an everyday job. Tyler Wade could see a change of address come July or a change to a utility role before joining the big club. A super utility player with some outfield seasoning could see a guy that plays in 40-60 games per year while giving other rest days. Nothing wrong with that.
